“Women who have abortions do so because they value life and because they take very seriously the myriad responsibilities that come not just with birth, but with nurturing a human being.”

The definition of wild child

I finished my last university exam of second year yesterday. It’s marked already! I failed. The course. What’s up summer school?..

I’ve been learning a lot of lessons the hard way these days. Failing my second course of the year means not only do I get to take it again, but my GPA is low enough that i’m getting kicked out of my program too. Being in overdraft is apparently NOT OK for more than a few weeks, let alone a few months. Drinking until 2:30am before writing an 8:30am Cell & Molecular Biology exam is actually not a good idea (can you say still drunk?). Having unprotected sex and not being vigilant with the pill WILL get you pregnant. Believing someone will want to date you eventually even though they don’t want to after several months of seeing each other is just silly. Thinking you can get by in university by not ever going to class and not doing any readings is just naïve, and chasing vodka with vodka will end up with waking up in emerg. pretty much guaranteed.

Good news is, if I do alright in my summer courses I can switch back into my program and thankfully, abortion is legal and I had the choice to terminate my pregnancy. I just got a job, and hopefully my parents will lend me money to set my bank things straight for the time being. Things are looking up, and I know it will all work out but it’s still feeling really hectic right now. I’m a bit out of control, but I have a plan. Going into the summer and into next year I’m going to have to crack down and show life I’ve learned my lesson. Spending money responsibly, drinking responsibly, having safe sex, effectively managing my time, making an effort, and being on time are going to get me there.

I’ve got this.
